Architects in Hebden Bridge. Rural homes, barns and extensions in the Pennines.
The practice
A small studio for people building on difficult, beautiful ground.
Extensions
More room for a stone cottage or terrace, without losing what made you buy it.
Conversions
Barns and outbuildings turned into warm, light homes that still read as farm buildings.
New builds
Houses set into the slope, facing the light, sheltered from the weather off the tops.
Our approach
Every project starts with a walk around your site, not a drawing.
Before anything is sketched we look at where the wind comes from, where the sun lands in winter, how water runs off the hill and what the neighbours can see. The design follows from that.
Calm process, clear decisions, honest advice about what your site and budget will allow.
Three steps
Visit. Design. Build.
01
Visit
Two hours on your site together. We walk the ground, talk through what you want and tell you plainly what is possible.
02
Design
Sketches, models and drawings developed with you, then taken through planning and building regulations.
03
Build
We help you choose a builder and stay involved on site, so what gets built is what was drawn.
First consultation
A two-hour site visit.
£150
We come to you, anywhere in the Calder Valley.
Two hours walking the site and talking it through.
Straight advice on planning, budget and next steps.
The £150 is deducted from your fee if you go ahead.
